Are you hungry? This is the right place to visit. On this busy street, you can find pizza for 49? Burger King for 99? and even Italian, Chinese, and Japanese restaurant. You can go to our Dining Out page for more specific information.
Boss Recommended: There is an Italian Restaurant called DINO at 966 St Catherine West. Not only are the dishes very well decorated, but also the interior design is so attractive. Their window is from ceiling to floor for people to enjoy the sunshine more. You can try their "Rabbit meal, B-B-Q Duck or Trio pasta", they are just great.
Shopping
From Place d'Armes to Place-des-Arts. From Bonaventure to Peel. Montreal has one of the world's biggest underground shopping mall. In Les Cours Mont-Royal, most of the stores are European, which means "very expensive". In Montreal Trust, Eaton Center and Centre Cathedral, there are more casual stores, such as GAP, Jacob, America, etc. So even if we have several big storms each year in the winter, that wouldn't stop our desire for shopping.
Boss recommends: In Les Cours Mont-Royal, there is a shop called "fb space". It's the store of a Quebec designer. His idea is "simple", which give people the chic feeling. The price is about average.
Coffee
This is definitely the street for coffee. Second Cup, A.L. Van Houtte, Tim Horton's Caf?Express...If you want to take a break from shopping, these are the right places to go.
Boss Recommended: A.L. Van Houtte has the best brewed coffee, and it's only $1.25. Their "meli-melo salad" is good and they have many choices too. A coffee with a dish of salad can give you a different feel to your usual afternoon!
Bookstores
Here have two bookstores, Indigo and Chapters. Both of them have coffee shop in the store, so you can have Latte and your favorite magazine at the same time!
Boss Recommended: Try the Starbucks (in Chapters) cafe latte for winter and house iced tea for summer!! They will fulfill every need.
Sherbrooke
It's the street for rich people, if you have great taste and "rich", you must come here.
Food
Do you want high class French meal, tasty Italian or Chinese food, and great service? Sherbrooke has it.
Boss Recommended: Try BICE, it's an Italian restaurant on the corner of Guy and Sherbrooke. The food here is excellent and the waiters are very good looking. So female friends would definitely have a nice meal here.
Shopping
There are many European designer boutiques here, such as Gianne Versace, Ralph Lauren, Cartier, Holt Renfrew, etc. Holt Renfrew is a department store which only sells designers' brand. They have Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Donna Karen, Davidoff, Gucci, Prada, Moschino, Tiffany, basically every designer name you can think of.
Museums
There are so many art galleries here, small, big, private, and public museums. After spend one day here will definitely make you looks much different!
Boss Recommended: Of course is Musee des Beaux Arts. It's a three-floor museum with a lot of famous pieces.
Saint-Laurent
If you have only been to Ste-Catherine and Sherbrooke, you wouldn't know about Montreal or Quebec at all. You have to come visit Saint-Laurent. A totally different culture that is waiting for you to explore. It's the "Quebecois" culture that you have never seen before.
Food
This is where the "poutine" came from, french fries with cheese on the top and serve with hot chicken sauce! Yummy!! Also try the smoked meat, but you might have to wait in long line up, because it's just so good. So don't forget to try them when you come here!
Shop
If you are looking for funky or second hand store, this is the right place. So shop very carefully here, you might find something that can give you a totally new style. Here also have some brand name stores, such as Buffalo, In Wear and BCBG.
Boss Recommended: During the summer, here has a big "side walk sale". Store sells some of their stuff on the street. Usually you can get very good price here, sometimes you can even bargain with them!
Pub
Most of the famous pubs are here, such as Jai, Angel's, Dome, Metropolis. You can totally release yourself here. But if there are too many people, you can't even move!!
